Verify Your Band On Spotify

spotify-picture

Like most earthlings these days – at least those who listen to music regularly – you are probably already using Spotify. But an article came to our attention recently highlighting why it’s important for musicians to increase their own followers on Spotify. By reaching the 250 follower mark, you are able to claim your own page as a “verified” artist, which unlocks some cool features and benefits. Some great tips for boosting your total are included in the piece as well:

Get Verified On Spotify

Plus, let’s face it, having more followers has to increase your spins and therefore ultimately lead to greater royalties. So with that in mind, I would like to encourage any random passerby to this site to click on the below links, and follow all of your favorite Exquisite Noise artists. Also, for those of you on our roster, a little cross promotion benefits everyone – if we all followed one another, that alone would increase our reach by at least, what, 30 or so, probably a lot more if every band member has his own Spotify account. And by all means, we would love for you to check out our Exquisite Noise playlist , which come to think of it might be the easiest method for clicking through and following all of our artists. But anyway, here are many of their individual pages –

Alex Fehr

Bill Kimes

Cherry Mosaic

Corners Of Sanctuary

FM Creeps

Frank Medley

Get-A-Way Band

Goofy Guys

Jeff Crew

Kevin Spain

Lions Of March

Lost Cause

Pinko

Powerless Rise

Quigley G

Star-Tripper

The Gold Needles

The Judas Cow

Ulisseus

XT Force

Zach Lunsford

Zayed Hassan

This is a good start at least. As always, and as mentioned in the article, it’s a great idea to start and circulate playlists with some of your own tracks sprinkled in the mix (don’t just play your own album over and over again – that’s a good way to get yourself booted from Spotify, as one of our artists discovered). So thanks for helping us out, and now is the time to start promoting your own band (brand) as well!

Our First Grammy Invitation

img_55541

Big news today in the Exquisite Noise camp – our award winning international artist Zayed Hassan is in the running for a Grammy nomination! As a result, we received an invite to the event. Who knows if anyone in our camp will actually attend – we could always blow this off and then claim we were “too cool” for such officially sanctioned industry events – but the truth is that this is pretty exciting. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for a Zayed win!

Young Vice

Young-Vice

Young Vice, Texas hiphop artist

Though he has been in the game for 6 years (and under contract with us, in development, for 2 of those, truth be known), Young Vice has surprisingly enough just gotten around to bringing forth his debut disc. A hard hitting – lyrically, that is, for the beats trend more toward the sleek end of the spectrum – and modern sounding effort, it has just hit iTunes and Spotify but racked up hundreds of thousands of listens, generating a ton of buzz, on his SoundCloud page (https://soundcloud.com/youngviceofficial) beforehand.

Young Vice is set to open for Childish Gambino soon in select dates, which is a huge step forward for him (and in the name of full disclosure, we must admit it’s a pretty big deal for us, too). Fans of hiphop and the current pop or EDM scenes alike will find something to love about this release, give it a spin now on Spotify!

Zayed Hassan and Exquisite Noise Team Up for Charity

Exquisite Noise's World Music Ambassador

Exquisite Noise’s World Music Ambassador

We are pleased to announce that Exquisite Noise Records and our “world music ambassador” Zayed Hassan, a rising star from Dhaka, Bangladesh, have agreed to donate 100% of all the revenues earned from his tracks for us to Fender Music Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to putting instruments into children’s hands, often through educational programs in schools.

Zayed has thus far contributed 3 songs to compilation CDs for our label. Do everyone a favor and spin a track or two – it’s for a good cause! Here are the Spotify links:

Giddy Dancer

Heaven In My Dream

Leap Of Faith

Of course, you can play these tracks (or even better, download them) from your content provider of choice. It doesn’t matter – every penny goes to this charity. Music education and access to instruments mean a lot to us, and we applaud Zayed for his getting behind this cause as well.

Mike The Punk’s Bold New Strategy

Mooresville, North Carolina’s Mike The Punk recently announced plans to issue one single a month for the next twelve months. A relatively recent signee to our roster, Mike (that’s Michael Robert Adams II, formally, if you’re keeping score), as his moniker might imply, combines something of a gritty Social Distortion-esque vocal delivery with catchy pop hooks…but then these are delivered, predominantly, with an acoustic guitar as his sole accompaniment, and yet the entire package does somehow manage to sound like, well, punk rock. Understandably, the instant we heard Mike’s recordings, we knew he was a must have for our lineup.

His first offering in this Single Of The Month club, Don’t Tell Her, is streaming before you can buy it at select online radio stations now, last.fm (http://www.last.fm/music/Mike+The+Punk/Don%27t+Tell+Her) and Rdio (http://www.rdio.com/artist/Mike_the_Punk/album/Don%27t_Tell_Her/) the major ones among these. You can also check out a YouTube clip the artist himself has posted himself here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMDoe_tsnv4

As always, stay posted for future updates. Mike The Punk seems poised to deliver a string of quality tunes, which update and expand his core sound without straying too far from his punk roots. We’re excited about what the future has to offer for this exciting new performer, and look forward to sharing this with the world – be it our label’s small yet rabid niche following, or the mainstream audience (we hope) at large.

The Perfection EP

Mooresville, North Carolina’s up and coming solo artist Mike The Punk has just released his brand new EP, “The Perfection,” here on Exquisite Noise Records. An extremely engaging 3 song primer full of surprising pop hooks and innovative textures, it gives just a taste of the body of work he is currently amassing, both on his own and with a separate, full fledged band, No Tears For Kennedy. You can check out this exciting release here: http://www.emusic.com/listen/#/album/mike-the-punk/the-perfection/13800108/:

Also available at Amazon, it will soon show up in the iTunes store and Spotify as well. For those curious about finding out more, check out Mike The Punk’s personal music site here: http://www.reverbnation.com/mikethepunk

Val Barin’s Vegas Based Folk

We here at Exquisite Noise are thrilled to announce our latest signee, Val Barin! A seasoned Las Vegas based folk artist, Val has a great singing voice and terrific composition skills. His melodies drew us back for repeated listens, which is how we knew we had to have him on our roster.

Give Val a few minutes of your ears – and when you get a chance, drops him a congrats!

An Instrumentalist Like No Other

We here at Exquisite Noise are extremely pleased to announce our newest signing, Zayed Hassan. Hailing from Dhaka, Bangladesh, this talented youngster brings a wealth of experience along with his 20 years. Though billed on iTunes as “electronic music” (check out his last album “Spirit” at http://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/spirit/id370052266), this tag really doesn’t do him justice. At the same time, it isn’t as if he’s jumbled together a bunch of crazy sounds, in what often passes for creativity in today’s electronic landscape. On the contrary, a peaceful, somewhat straightforward piano piece such as “Deshi Experimental” gives way to an acoustic guitar workout on “For the World” that makes a listener feel as though Zayed is in the room with him. “Haunted” brings, as the title might suggest, captivating otherworldly sounds into the equation via a multitude of instruments, while with “Emptiness,” a somber church organ is joined by insistently melodic guitar and piano parts that get stuck inside your head with just one listen.

Hassan has his next release slated for December, and we are proud to be working toward that goal furiously here at Exquisite Noise. In the meantime, feel free to check out his tracks here and see what lured us into contacting him in the first place: https://www.facebook.com/zusician?sk=app_19507961798

Wedlock Joins The Exquisite Noise Roster

We here at Exquisite Noise Records are happy to report the signing of veteran electronic outfit Wedlock, who come to us with nearly a decade’s worth of cutting edge work behind them, and some ambitious plans for the future.

Led by mainstay Paul Allgood since their 2004 inception, Wedlock initially drew listeners in with its unique fusion of late 70s and early 80s new wave to more modern dance sensibilities, as well as its provocative lyrics. In conjunction with a somewhat revolving cast of colleagues, Allgood has guided Wedlock through a series of releases which included Matrimony (2006), Exogamy (2008), and Continuity (2009), during which time they also managed to lodge a Top Ten downloaded track on Amazon.com.

With their classic “Cuts Both Ways” they are featured on our brand new compilation, Neighborhood Classics, and are planning on releasing their own career-spanning retrospective, Amalgamy, sometime this year for us. Time will tell what the next phase of their career means by way of studio work and live performances, but both they and us here at Exquisite Noise are looking forward to this working relationship.
