L.A. Star
This prolific singer-songwriter (who despite the name, actually hails from the U.K.) has already crafted an impressive body of work. Mostly operating in the lo-fi vein, his unique yet catchy style is somewhat reminiscent of indie stalwarts such as Dan Reeder, Roky Erickson, or maybe even Iron And Wine. Whatever the case, his compositions feature thoughtful lyrics and sharp melodies, even as he continues cranking out material at an often staggering pace. Give a listen to his top tracks below, and we’re sure you will agree!

Lil Spaghet:
Rapper/songwriter, Matthew Hill (known by the alias of Lil Spaghet) is an American born comedic artist. In 2018 alone he recently released his first single with us, I’m Really White, followed by the albums Lost In The Sauce and White Child.
Lions Of March:
For you purists out there, we’re also happy to offer a real physical CD!
Sloppy North Carolina indie rockers nonetheless deliver mad charm. Shambling but melodic, they bring a fresh mix of both live archaic instrumentation and more modern digital ones, while their hooks sneak up on you after you’ve written them off as hacks.
Following the release of their 2004 debut, the core three piece band began recording new tracks during the Christmas holiday of that year. Over time, additional members were added, and a solid batch of tunes was developed. In-fighting and a lack of central direction, however, led to endless re-recordings, shifting of studios on numerous occasions, and bickering about the direction of material. Things finally ground to a permanent halt in the summer of 2007 – at the time, the band had swollen its ranks to a seven person roster.
In the wake of this dissolution, very little was accomplished for a number of years. Finally, the original core trio did manage to reunite and release a couple of new singles in 2011, and a pair more in 2012. Since the beginning of 2017 they have intermittently on their sophomore album, and characterize the sessions as very laid back, with this year already having been more productive than any other since Scars Scatter was released.

Lost Cause (a.k.a. Kaelin The Leo):
Lost Cause is an up and coming hiphop artist currently working in the Louisville, KY region. We released his debut CD, Home Front, in 2013. A gifted lyricist, when asked recently by us to describe his style and the musical landscape in Louisville, he said, “I started back when I was 14 years old and then I was just free styling and being goofy. As of now the music scene in this city is like an infant: it needs help terribly. My sound and style are unique but honestly I’m a backpack rapper hands down. I rap about what’s around me about real life.”

Nay:
Nathan Lewis is the mastermind behind these infectious pop concoctions. When we asked him about his musical journey, he said, “I spent most of my childhood growing up in a small desert town in New Mexico. Growing up and especially in high school I always had an obsession with music. Especially singing. It wasn’t until I started going to college in LA that I began to take it more seriously. I hope to make a lot more original music in the near future and spread it to whoever will listen!”
He released his second single, Den Eye, in September 2018.

Nick Bowen:
Nick is a breakout artist who has called the upstate NY town of Webster his home from the day he was born. He’s been writing and playing music for about a decade, with a primary focus on guitar – although he also lends his talents to the occasional keyboard, harmonica, accordion, and whatever else might be needed. He cites Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, and Van Morrison among his many, mostly classic rock oriented inspirations. Recently his song Fillin’ Up Balloons was featured as lead-in music on The Tony Kornheiser Show.

NuffSaid:
NuffSaid in one sentence is everything hip hop used to be. Everything music used to be. Since the age of 16, living in his native city of St. Louis, MO, NuffSaid has always hungered for challenges – and hip-hop was the ultimate challenge that NuffSaid accepted. This is no ordinary challenge. It could take a 10000 hours to master such a skill. Wanna see what 10000 hours of out being a student of the game gets you? NuffSaid.

This Charlotte, NC area hiphop artist has only just begun his musical journey, joining the Exquisite Noise roster in 2019. Born Theodore Bryan McClurkin Jr, in Chester, SC, he was raised in Charlotte and says, “I grew up around violence and adapted to my surroundings.” Following a prison stint at ate 17, he has rehabilitated himself by making music which chronicles his experiences.
Oko & The Authority:
Oko & the Authority is a project set up by four friends hailing from Italy sharing a common wish: to combine each of their own peculiar traits to create a synergetic flow, catalyst for an original sound, different from the (wildly different) starting points of each member in the group. When asked for details concerning how this works in practice, they had this to say:
“We all come from different backgrounds: Emanuele ‘Krisy’ Nisi deals with the rhythmic portions of the tracks; Davide ‘DvD’ Benedetti, keyboard player with a background in piano studies, bestows a classical touch to our works; Lorenzo ‘Clipped’ Giaché, keyboard player and DJ, brings chaos to tranquility. Aldo ‘Truffaldo’ Giovagnoli, bass & guitar player and producer, translates himself into music.
Our music can be defined as a blend of electronic genres: EDM, IDM, Trance, Glitch, a pinch of Experimental, salt and pepper as required. Our aim is to come up with something different from commercial music, a sound that is able to produce a deep connection between the human senses. Each and every track has been produced in our own home recording, dedicating all the time needed to develop all that we wanted to display. Ukronia is our debut album where we included the best out of our creative maelstrom. We bring our music to different contexts: live exhibitions, DJ sets, videogame or movie soundtracks, or just a source for pleasurable listening.”

Pinko:
Youthful skronk from this exciting NC trio! Free downloads of their early demos here. We had almost given up on finding any good music in the Charlotte region – though actively searching for an act to sign, all we were hearing anywhere down there was bad metal, Christian music, and 1970s sounding r & b that, while decent enough, is not exactly our forte. Then we stumbled upon these inventive noise rockers, who bring both racket and melody, and we knew we had to sign them.

Powerless Rise:
