Rota first signed with us basically right at the deadline for inclusion on our Suitable For Public Consumption compilation album. Since that time, we have also proudly released a full-length effort from him, Neurotica, and he has also contributed a killer cover of Neutral Milk Hotel’s Oh Comely to our label-wide compilation Chill Before Serving. When we asked him for a little biographical material, here’s what he had to say:
“Rota is a do-gooder lawyer by day and a rapper/spoken word poet by night and he needs both of these to stay sane. He is currently in the process of moving to Ann Arbor to supervise students who provide free representation to veterans at Michigan Law School. He is a proud member of Rogue Tendency in Champaign, Illinois, and the Nocturnals and the Interfaith Poets in Chicago. You can’t miss him. He’s the tallest Jew for miles.”
In more recent years, Rota has dispensed The Bad Place EP, as well as the excellent standalone single, Feed The Kids Dirt, featuring Emma.
