Buhg-Z-Fuego
Buhg-Z-Fuego is an up and coming hip-hop artist from North Carolina. He’s originally from Virginia, relocated to Wichita for awhile, and only recently wound up in the Winston-Salem area. Even more impressively, he only recently began recording his own compositions – but already seems to be on top of his game! When asked about his musical philosophy, he had this to say:
Music has always been a dream of mine, and it’s something I know I can do. It’s not just about what you create for yourself when it comes to music…it’s more about the audience…understanding what’s in, and how to give it to them the best way possible…I grew up in the 90s…and in hip hop right now…that’s the “it” factor..I was aware of this, as well as my skills, and simply told my wife…”I’m going to do that, I’m going to make music” …what they want…what’s in style…is simply what I’m into…so here I am!…but I’ve always felt confident enough to reach out with what I’ve come up with in a short period of time…factoring in my cheap equipment…and lack of studio knowledge..I hoped someone would be able to see what I see…
We are most impressed with his lyrical dexterity above all else. But in every way, he is an exciting, fresh new force on the scene, and we at Exquisite Noise are stoked to have released his first handful of singles…with many more brilliant tracks to come! Don’t just take our word for it, though, by all means listen for yourself:
Pinko In The Ink, Oh
It’s been a busy month here at the southern Exquisite Noise compound, though we’re of a mind that a rising tide carries all ships, et cetera, all that jazz, and that everyone on our roster should benefit from this increasing buzz. With this in mind, we’re pleased to announce our second April signing, this one a young, noisy, and very original trio from Mooresville, North Carolina named Pinko. Though only playing together a short while, they’ve already hit their stride with a number of singular yet melodic tunes, hinting at even greater things to come. To give you some indication of what to expect, the first time I heard them I was instantly reminded of those zany, though criminally underrated, experimental bands that I began listening to in the early to mid 90s, groups like Ween, Butthole Surfers, and their ilk, high on both originality and a sneaky, unexpected musicianship.
They’ve been playing some live shows and working on new material, with the intention of entering a studio any day now. We’re discussing a summer release date with a single or two possibly leaking out even sooner. In the meantime, please listen to and download some older demos on their Bandcamp page, like them on Facebook, and by all means stay tuned for future developments!
Mike The Punk “A Long Time Ago”
Our young signee Mike The Punk recently delivered the second offering in his “single of the month” plan for 2013 and beyond, with the excellent “A Long Time Ago” arriving in our mailbox just days ago. Continuing along in a similar vein as Mike’s prior work, the frenetic strumming, introspective lyrics, and Social Distortion inspired vocals remain in place, although he seems to be moving toward a more epic scope, if future singles (teaser alert!) are any indication. You can listen before you buy it here and it will be available for purchase soon on all the major platforms. Give it a spin & let us know what you think!
Mike The Punk’s Bold New Strategy
Mooresville, North Carolina’s Mike The Punk recently announced plans to issue one single a month for the next twelve months. A relatively recent signee to our roster, Mike (that’s Michael Robert Adams II, formally, if you’re keeping score), as his moniker might imply, combines something of a gritty Social Distortion-esque vocal delivery with catchy pop hooks…but then these are delivered, predominantly, with an acoustic guitar as his sole accompaniment, and yet the entire package does somehow manage to sound like, well, punk rock. Understandably, the instant we heard Mike’s recordings, we knew he was a must have for our lineup.
His first offering in this Single Of The Month club, Don’t Tell Her, is streaming before you can buy it at select online radio stations now, last.fm (http://www.last.fm/music/Mike+The+Punk/Don%27t+Tell+Her) and Rdio (http://www.rdio.com/artist/Mike_the_Punk/album/Don%27t_Tell_Her/) the major ones among these. You can also check out a YouTube clip the artist himself has posted himself here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMDoe_tsnv4
As always, stay posted for future updates. Mike The Punk seems poised to deliver a string of quality tunes, which update and expand his core sound without straying too far from his punk roots. We’re excited about what the future has to offer for this exciting new performer, and look forward to sharing this with the world – be it our label’s small yet rabid niche following, or the mainstream audience (we hope) at large.
