Andrew Pattie

Andrew Pattie

Andrew Pattie has been an active performer within the Scottish and international musical culture scene since 2007. A multi-faceted artist, he has worked with the likes of C Duncan, Bmx Bandits, Isobel Campbell, and Amazing Snakeheads (Domino), both live and in-studio, as well as producing and performing with his own group Honey and the Herbs.

He only relatively recently began issuing music under his own name. His unique brand of experimental pop is apparent in his new studio recordings, but it is clear he is expanding creative realms. Echoes of contemporaries such as Ariel Pink, Mild High Club and Tops can be heard, with some defining nods to YMO, Talking Heads and New Wave of the 80s.

Growing up in rural southwest Scotland, Pattie was fortunate to have a wealth of inspiration close at hand despite the large absence of an organic music scene in the region. His father was a huge influence on his early understanding of music outside of the current chart, rock, and radio sounds. His large record collection of classical, jazz, prog and esoteric albums first stimulated Pattieā€™s love for anything anti-pop.

These early teenage adventures into genre-defying concept music helped Pattie develop fluency in and knowledge of a huge variety of styles, finally distilling into his unique, mature sound. This range has been further expanded through professional session work for a number of well-known artists, some of whom are listed above. Currently residing in Glasgow, Scotland since 2007, his musical adventure continues to flourish.

His first solo single, You Think About It, was released in late 2020 by Exquisite Noise Records. Since that time, we have been proud to issue a number of fantastic singles from this compelling, thoroughly modern artist:
