This exciting veteran composer and performer has played all the guitar work on a Led Zeppelin tribute album featuring John Corabi and Cypress Hill, among others. He recently released his debut EP with us, Vacscene. His sound can best be described perhaps as a modern take on that classic rock vibe we all know and love.
In May of 2019, he also contributed a track to our Chill Before Serving compilation, the latest in a label-wide series.
For you purists out there, we’re also happy to offer a real physical CD!
Sloppy North Carolina indie rockers nonetheless deliver mad charm. Shambling but melodic, they bring a fresh mix of both live archaic instrumentation and more modern digital ones, while their hooks sneak up on you after you’ve written them off as hacks.
Following the release of their 2004 debut, the core three piece band began recording new tracks during the Christmas holiday of that year. Over time, additional members were added, and a solid batch of tunes was developed. In-fighting and a lack of central direction, however, led to endless re-recordings, shifting of studios on numerous occasions, and bickering about the direction of material. Things finally ground to a permanent halt in the summer of 2007 – at the time, the band had swollen its ranks to a seven person roster.
In the wake of this dissolution, very little was accomplished for a number of years. Finally, the original core trio did manage to reunite and release a couple of new singles in 2011, and a pair more in 2012. Since the beginning of 2017 the three of them have worked intermittently on their sophomore album, and characterize the sessions as very laid back, with this year already having been more productive than any other since Scars Scatter was released. In May of 2019, they contribute their first new track in seven years to our volume 6 of our compilation album series.
J. Jamal is an up and coming musician hailing from Harbor City, CA. He counts Tyler The Creator, Luther Vandross, and Mali Music among his many influences. His debut EP, I Like Me, was among our highlighted discs for summer ’18. On Valentine’s Day 2019, he released his epic Love Letter collection, which has proven his most popular effort yet. As far as where he’s at right now in his musical journey, J. Jamal recently had this to say:
“This is the first step on my road to the Good Life. I want to thank God and my godmom, Opal Allen, for allowing me to dream. And thank you to Wes at Kairos Music Group, for helping to make that dream a reality.”
Bion is a pop producer/composer based out of Cape Town, South Africa. His personal motto is “remember there are no rules in music production – as an artist, you are your business,” and he describes music as his first love. He creates melodic, uplifting songs, inspired in part by 80’s acts such as Depeche Mode and Pet Shop Boys. Interestingly enough, he has only recently returned to recording music, after a 15 year absence from the scene. But you wouldn’t know it, as his compositions sound fresh, and fit right in with the modern landscape. Here’s this first single released on Exquisite Noise Records, Can’t Let Go:

Fresh out of Portugal, Filipe Ferin brings his own distinctive, dreamy style to the modern folk/singer-songwriter genre. Some reviews have compared him to Bon Iver with a little bit of Iron & Wine thrown into the mix, and they are not wrong. Here is what Justyn Brodsky from the Music Pact Society had to say:
“Utilizing a vocal style that has a very broad range, each track from The End’s Magic is versatile with several musicianship factors that standout. Filipe‘s vocal style is multifaceted and crafts his melody choices diligently through every measure. The choruses are catchy, the guitar progressions are futuristic, and each song resonates with each other perfectly with both musical and lyrical content.”
I only quote this because we couldn’t have said it better. Anyway, be sure to listen below to hear the results for yourself:

We are pleased to announce that modern hard rock quartet Powerless Rise have just released a brand new EP, Chaos. This is their 2nd effort for our label, and I have to say, we are just as stoked by the styles represented here as we were their debut. Here’s the link for downloading the full EP:
Hi there everyone. We are pleased to announce the signing of urban/R&B group I Am One Of A Kind, from Brooklyn, New York. They offer an exciting blend of old school rhythm and blues mixed with modern hip-hop production, and we found this a very compelling sound. From their website (http://www.myppk.com/PPKs/indexC.aspx?PPK=16785), they describe it as such:
“…a fusion of Rythm & Blues with Hip Hop evoking emotion filled songs that make listeners take pause. However, understand that a unique and seamless blend of music genres is what make this band stand out. The Band has a sound that makes them a contemporary group that delivers a solid music experience.”
I think that pretty much sums it up. At any rate, check them out, follow their ReverbNation page (https://www.reverbnation.com/iamooak), and by all means, welcome them aboard!
It’s taken some time to get all of the pieces in perfect alignment, but the eagerly awaited Twisted Hearts album by Cherry Mosaic is at last in the pipeline – and we could not be more excited about the results. To give the faithful a little taste, the title track is now available for streaming on Rdio, and will soon be available at all key digital outlets. A shimmery rocker that seems fitting somehow for spring, Dave Burbage and Simon Dowson split guitar duties for this track, paving the way for Debby Moody’s always powerful vocals and the fluid support work of Mark English on keyboards and bass. Actually according to the notes they gave us, the drums are programmed, though the listener would be hard pressed to distinguish these from live ones, as the beat provides a resounding crunch. All in all this is a strong offering which bodes well for the forthcoming CD. Stay tuned for more, as we anticipate the full length effort should be available within the next couple of weeks.
