Quigley G:
After joining Goofy Guys for their 3rd album, 1991’s The Flush, Quigley played a pivotal role on a number of releases before going AWOL and getting the boot in the latter portion of that decade. He was finally reinstated in February 2001, and has since contributed mightily to that band’s rebirth. A talented multi-instrumentalist, singer, and producer, he has also kept busy releasing his own solo music and playing out when the schedule permits. For the latter half of 2018 and early parts of 2019, he has also been busy in the studio, hard at work on a long awaited solo studio album.

Rota:
Rota is one of our newest signees, with a track on the forthcoming Suitable For Public Consumption compilation album. When we asked him for a little biographical material, here’s what he had to say:
“Rota is a do-gooder lawyer by day and a rapper/spoken word poet by night and he needs both of these to stay sane. He is currently in the process of moving to Ann Arbor to supervise students who provide free representation to veterans at Michigan Law School. He is a proud member of Rogue Tendency in Champaign, Illinois, and the Nocturnals and the Interfaith Poets in Chicago. You can’t miss him. He’s the tallest Jew for miles.”
Sam-r:
When asked to describe his journey this far, hip-hop artist Sam-r submitted this official press release:
He felt no extraordinary conviction of his destiny, no rejection of life; he took music as he found it and sought new paths to be conquered. Sam-r’s journey from war-torn Syria, to Lebanon, and finally to Toronto Canada, is told through the melodies and the intricate rhyme schemes that he delivers. Sam-r’s first album, Death of a Saint, released in 2018 told the story of this journey, with five tracks produced by Sam-r himself, the instrumentals include a combination of classical melodies, old school samples, 808’s and more.
S.B. Olson:
This heartfelt modern singer-songwriter from North Dakota specializes in raw confessionals which sound so fresh, it’s as though he’s playing in the same room as you. We recently released his full length debut with our label, the self-titled S.B. Olson, and believe it is a fantastic testament to his sparse yet hard hitting sound. He describes his songs as “old friends,” and that does seem especially apt when considering his music.

Shina 4reigner:
A multi-genre, international artist, Shina 4reigner originated from Africa, is based in California and has taken his music all around the world. Among his greatest achievements is receiving a United Nations commendation at the New York headquarters and in Africa for supporting peace through music. Following the release of a couple singles, in 2018 he dropped his full length album, My Time, which further explores a world of diverse sounds.
Soft Porn:
An electronic artist from Brazil, Lucas Spanholi has also recently been touring under the name Soft Porn. His first single with us, Sad Hera, was released in September 2018.

Star-Tripper:
A side project from Simon Dowson of the Gold Needles, this short lived combo, featuring the vocals of Abbie Lammas, delivered some sharp, catchy British pop. Here’s to hoping they make a return!
Steel Clover:
Steel Clover is a Celtic singer, songwriter and recording artist from the historic steel town of Homestead, Pittsburgh, PA. Steel plays acoustic guitar, mandolin, fiddle, Irish whistle and Irish bouzouki. Over the past 15 years steel has performed in some interesting venues including Celtic festivals in WV and NY, the Pittsburgh’s Tartan Day Festival, the Ligonier Highland Games, the Rivers of Steel Arts & Heritage Festival, the Stahlstown Flaxscutching Festival, Penn’s Colony Festival, Westmoreland Arts and Heritage Festival, Fort Armstrong Folk Festival and the Peoples Gas Holiday Market in Market Square.
A music reviewer from Pittsburgh City Paper is quoted saying that “the music of Steel Clover would feel at home in the grand halls where people are in colorful flowing attires. There is something grand about her style that calls to mind the beauty of old music. Her arrangements are full of passion, spirit and sensitivity that will leave you wanting to hear more.”
Baxter Labatos from The Celtic Music Fan states that “her music is beautiful, evocative and heart-hurting.”
Steel Clover has published four CDs so far and just completed two other CDs with Rich Patrick, the other Celtic Band she performs with. Steve Bass:
Steve Bass is an instrumental composer from North Carolina who is fairly new to the Exquisite Noise family. We released his debut single with us, Clean Money, in February of 2019, and expect a lot more great music from him. Here’s some bio information from his press release:
Steve Bass is an independent composer/arranger/musician. He started out as a DJ and moved from playing records to becoming a musician and artist. He formed a R&B two man group with a good friend and released two albums, while opening for other local artists. After a while the group went their separate ways, and he then started producing musicians around NC. His credits are Rap, R&B, Gospel, Soul, and likely any other artist that did well locally. He did that for about 8 years and then he got diagnosed with “MS” and had to slow the producing down. So nothing will stop him from doing what he loves, as for instance he now composes instrumental background music for TV & movie/film scenes, advertising, radio spots, in-store background music, and licensing opportunities. His goals are to become a strong contributor in the music placement and licensing marketing side of things, and to do so for many years to come.
The.I.Jester/ IamJester:
The.I.Jester is a 24 year old living in Florida, having just begun his musical journey. Prior to this career, he was attending college until his grandmother, who was his major influence in life, passed away, and he was forced to drop out. He’s experienced a turbulent life and says that music is his escape from it. “I hope it can be an escape for my fans as well,” he adds. In more recent times, he has begun releasing singles under the IamJester moniker instead, as he updates his image for the modern era.

This exciting veteran composer and performer has played all the guitar work on a Led Zeppelin tribute album featuring John Corabi and Cypress Hill, among others. He recently released his debut EP with us, Vacscene. His sound can best be described perhaps as a modern take on that classic rock vibe we all know and love.
Ulisseus:
This exciting new artist from Greece combines rock, pop, and world music, with vocals in both English and Greek, in a manner adding up to a compelling, previously uncharted sound. 2023 finds him hard at work on his next full length album, which should land in stores by year’s end.
Unlovable Tino:
This young rapper from San Antonio just dropped his first ever single, the edgy, urban textured Lorenzo, and we expect more great things from him.

We like that Val Barin, a young though somewhat seasoned Las Vegas troubadour, offers the complete antithesis of everything his hometown is known for: in this city of glamour and neon, he breaks out the acoustic and sings clear, direct modern folk music. If you happen to be vacationing there, check the events calendar, because chances are he’s gracing a stage somewhere more nights than not. In the meantime, give a listen to his 2012 release Purse Of Old Crows, an album full of soothing melodies and chiming guitars.

Venomous:
Venomous, whose real name is Tyrone Collins, hails from Cape Town, South Africa. Though only in his early twenties now, he started writing rap music when he was about 10, and only recently started recording and learning how to mix, master and produce his works. When asked about his ambitions, he told us, “I do want to be known as a LEGEND and will do everything it takes to get there!” Based upon his infectious debut single, Game Of Love, we think he is well on his way.

North Carolina techno gods’ 2008 effort, Exogamy
Although Durham, NC combo Wedlock describes itself as “electro-indie pop,” their style is a bit more complex than such a light designation might imply. While techno and EDM are prominent components, true, and there’s always a compelling hook, lyrically they tackle thought provoking issues, while the music incorporates elements of disco, funk, reggae, and dare we say even a vague summer party vibe at times. They also have an even greater following in England and have been our best selling artists for three consecutive years.

Hailing for Serbia, this easy listening/jazz musician has only recently begun releasing music – but you wouldn’t know it, gauging from his chops. Recently, The Zdep, whose real name is Dusan Srbljin, had this to say about the role of music in his life:
